• Du Page River - wade for smallmouth bass.

• Kankakee River - wade for smallmouth and northern pike.

• Fox River - wade for smallmouth and muskies.

• Salt Creek - wade for smallmouth and muskies.

• Des Plaines River - wade for smallmouth and northerns.

• Kishwaukee River - wade for smallmouth and northerns.

• Neighborhood and business park retention ponds - bank fish for large mouth bass. They are typically stocked per developers' code.

• Southwest Wisconsin offers world class cold water trout fly fishing.

  • Driftless Region - Outstanding. To put it in perspective, only Alaska has more miles of  trout water than Wisconsin.

• Lake Michigan's tributaries offer big game salmon and steelhead fly fishing.

  • Wisconsin - the Root, Milwaukee, Sheboygan and Manitowoc Rivers, just to name a few.

  • Indiana - Trail Creek is the most popular.

  • Michigan - starting from the St. Joe River and all up the coast is some of the best in the nation.

  • Illinois - not so hot except for the lakefront.
